A Growth Industry in Disability
As I now work completely within the field of Assistive Technology, AND I reside with a young man with developmental disabilities, AND an older man with disabilities, I have not taken time to maintain this site as I planned. But on the good side, boy is there much more material to contribute here. As I said in the title to this post, I have found that disability is a "growth industry". There are more and more folks living with disability than I previously thought, and the baby boomers are coming on up into the lower level disability issues of hearing and vision loss. Growth industry refers to the need for the rise of care and services and also for the employment prospects of those who do direct care and train staff of all types for this care.
